Treaty created by Oricerans after the Great War that destroyed much of every realm, except Atlantiis

“Thousands of years ago, all the different kingdoms of Oriceran were at each other’s throat over as many different disputes, some of them even forgotten. Still, the fighting continued and everyone lost people they loved.”The war raged on for hundreds of years, across generations and over many lands.

Eventually, a treaty was proposed. Not the first time that had happened, but this one came from the prophets., like your Supreme Court. A ruling body that serves for life with a member from every society. They oversee everything on Oriceran, across our world. Everyone was weary of hating their neighbor by then, and there was almost unanimous acceptance.

However, one tribe, the Atlanteans, refused to even listen. They were a privileged race who did their best to forestall the treaty. They were suspected of using their dark magic to plant seeds of jealousy and hatred in the different kingdomsThe Atlanteans saw that the treaty was gaining ground and they did the unthinkable. They used a kind of dark magic that has only been used once before and was forbidden, even during the wars. They tried to send the prophets to the world in between. A nether world that is full of the living and the dead where nothing ever happens and no one ages. The kings from all the realms, all across Oriceran, finally came together and in a battle that raged for days, weeks even, they managed to kill the Atlanteans and Rhazdon. After that, lasting peace came to Oriceran. Their magic, their books, their potions, all of it was taken and locked away by the prophets. Gnomes protect it to this day.

The three most important points of the treaty concern the sectioning of the lands between the different kingdoms, the respect for life and property, equally for everyone, and the ban on opening portals between Oriceran and Earth before the next Gold Age. They were all put into place for the security and well-being of everyone on Oriceran.

TSoNM 01/10 Today’s lesson goes back sixteen thousand years to a time where war raged on Oriceran. For centuries they looked for peace, but none could be found. Finally different creatures from across Oriceran came together to create one of the most important documents in their history, the Great Treaty. The Great Treaty set up rules and understandings that allowed the portals between Earth and Oriceran to open, but only during certain periods. The rest of the time travel between the worlds was forbidden without the express permission of the Council. When the portal to Earth first opened many magical beings came to Earth and some humans went to Oriceran. When the portal was closing many of those beings decided to stay here, which is where most of you came from. The treaty has been in effect for sixteen thousand-plus years, but recently it has been threatened more than once. Can anyone tell me one instance?” The artifact race. Magical beings generally live much longer than humans, and we have powers on Oriceran that aren’t as strong as here. That is where the kemanas and the artifacts come into play. For this class we will be talking about artifacts. These trinkets, some completely random like spoons, sundials, lamps, or even clothing, are given stores of energy—magic, if you will. When a magical being needs a boost on Earth, they can basically use these artifacts to recharge. “There is a seer—a woman who can tell the future—and she has foretold that the next time the portal opens Oriceran will lose all its power and cease to exist. That means magical beings will have to migrate to this planet and set up shop here on Earth. The prophecy is not written in stone, but many are basing their futures on that prediction. Because of that, magic has started to become more visible to the people of Earth, giving them a chance to ease into lives next to magical beings. Some are scared and others curious, but where change comes, so do those looking to profit. That is where the race for artifacts comes into play.” The large corporations, both Oriceran and human-run, think that if they own powerful artifacts they will be able to stay in power once our worlds collide. So—as you can imagine, having been around humans a lot in your lives—they are doing whatever they can to collect artifacts. “I don’t think it’s right that they take what isn’t theirs,” Ethan yelled. “And I would agree with you,” Eleanor responded. “Unfortunately, we brought them here—or created them here—and therefore they have as much say as we do. They experiment with artifacts to create a new version of this world. In short, yes, it is unfair, but we were the ones who enabled them.” Alison listened carefully, shocked to find out that magical beings were on the verge of becoming one with the community around them. She was a bit skeptical though, having spent her fair share of time around humans and never seeing much more than greed and pride. She didn’t dislike them, but she knew they weren’t educated on magic and thus feared it. It was all about power, and with a power struggle usually comes an ugly battle.
