THE EGG
TSoNM 01/8, 9, 22, 29 When Ethan was angry at Wyatt and Henry, causing the branch to fall, it opened an enormous cavern (black crystal, stalactites, water dripping) in which the group found a mysterious black egg, with golden swirls/glimmers resting on a shelf, emitting bright energy, and with colors on it moving so fast that they could not be read. The group decides to take it back to their dorm room, hiding it in Alison's dresser, and telling no one about it. The egg stayed there for the whole semester, seeming to get heavier as time progressed. Alison took it with her, at Christmas break, as she did not want to leave it in the room alone for two weeks. As Dark Is Her Nature closes, the egg is still a mystery, the School still knows nothing about it, and it is with Alison, Shay and James for the Holidays.
TSONM 02/15 The egg has not yet hatched, and Alison and Aya want to just sit and contemplate/study if. They placed it in the middle of one of the beds, and Alison asked Aya what it looked like. Aya touched it, and the golden flecks sparkled, reflecting the lamplight and casting sparkling motes across the ceiling and walls. She could feel a warmth around it like it was in an incubator, maintaining a perfect temperature. the shell is bumpy, like craters on the moon. Dark gray, with bright sparkling patches of gold all over it like rough polka dot Aya asks what its energy look like.
“Its energy is thick. It starts out with a swirling gray with those gold flecks spinning through it. As I concentrate harder, the colors on the inside pop through. They are a mixture of purples, greens, reds, oranges, and all the colors in between, moving in a circular motion almost like it’s a liquid. It’s different than energies I normally sense. They are very light, like fog or smoke, but these are fluid and almost shimmery.”. Beyond the energies and their colors, Alison could feel heat every time she touched it. It would surge up her arm and linger in her chest, just like the energy she used for magic. It felt like it was communicating—bonding almost—but she had no idea what it was trying to tell her. She wasn’t sure what was in there, or if it would even survive, but whatever it was, she felt drawn to it. Like she had to keep it safe from harm.
Do you think it will be friendly? aya asked. “I don’t know for sure, but if the colors I sense are any indication, then yeah, I really do. At least to us. We will be its family, of sorts.”
THE HATCHLING
03/3 A silver dragon is designed to take care of itself. In general, they like to be near humans, or at least the ones they know they can trust. Throughout time they’ve been known to be very protective of the innocent, though they don’t go out looking for danger. If they happen to come upon it, though, they won’t hesitate to jump in and save the day. They are very honorable creatures, not to mention extraordinarily intelligent, and that can’t be said for most dragons. There have been tales from Oriceran, from long before the Light Elf kingdom was established. Silver Dragons actually sat on the councils of the various lands, helping to protect the place from enemies.” They’re kind to every creature they meet unless they feel threatened, but something in the past was able to push them out of mainstream life, and even where they usually congregated, you’d be lucky to find a footprint. The eggs are very precious to the species, which is probably why it was brought to Earth. The others would have searched it out on Oriceran.Bonded with group, even from inside the egg, and seemed to acknowledge them all as his mother when they met.
The egg had hatched in their dorm room, creating havoc (comforter, pillow feathers all over, furniture broken, scratches on sides of desks.)Ran into forest.
Lived in the forest for many chapters, visited by the girls, growing. 03/25 Size of a St. Bernard by now. Gave them his name, Dorvu. The dragon pounced on Izzxie, and bugled a sweet song, having fun being around his clan. His species always congregated into clans, with no real leader. Dorvu had a clan; it just didn’t have any other dragons. Morphed into a small boy to visit with them. Alison explained - He is a dragon, probably one of the most powerful magical beings in history, and yes, we can all hear him when he talks.(Can communicate telepathically them). Unfortunately, he has spent so much time around us inside his egg that ‘teenage girl’ is the language he learned.” He could, in fact, walk into any large city and no one would know the difference.
