TUMB 06/11 When Maria Hall's equipment was destroyed in a prior fight, (the Anti-Magic deflectors that protected the team), she went to the Black Sun, to ask Tyler where she might be able to get more, from "other sources than government". He told her to go to see Dannec, and elf, who might be able to help her.
She did, finding Dannec living in Elf Town (an Oriceran-heavy enclave in the city), and they make a deal. He will supply her with as many as she needs (30% better than the government ones) , for a sum of money and the granting of a favor, to be disclosed when he needed it.

As Dannec has no bank accounts, she needs t get the money to him by laundering it in some way, so goes back to Tyler for that service, as well. She thinks she's getting as bad as Brownstone, and it rankles her.
She ambushes and fights Tessa the "old-fashioned way", from a tip that was phoned in that Tessa would be at a Country Club that was giving a BBQ for Nadina, one of the leading chefs on a local show. Maria went there, Ressa came, they fought, and she killed Tessa with a sonic grenade.
